  4. While these issues are largely highlighted by Murdoch’s writings, Whatmore (1997) and Whatmore and Thorne (1997) do not address these. Hence, if there is an assumption by these latter authors of the discrete totality of networks, it is implied through omission, as opposed to Murdoch’s explicit textual references. Perhaps a broader reading of ANT would clarify the theory’s stance on network solidity; however, this was not possible due to time constraints of the thesis.
